Habanero Aioli
Ingredients
- 2 habaneros seeded and chopped fine (we used three for a bit of BAM!)
- 2 t minced garlic
- 1 large egg yolk
- 2 t fresh lemon juice
- ½ t Dijon mustard
- ¼ c extra virgin olive oil
- 3 T vegetable oil
Instructions
- Mince seeded and chopped habanero as much as possible (I used food processor on chop).
- Add minced garlic.
- Add a healthy pinch of salt.
- Remove from food processor and continue to mash with cutting knife on cutting board until it becomes a fine paste.
- Set aside.
- In separate bowl combine egg yolk, mustard, and lemon juice-whisk together.
- Combine oils and slowly add to egg yolk mixture while mixing.
- Whisk garlic/habanero mixture into bowl.
- Refrigerate to allow flavors to meld.
