Shrimp, Asparagus, and Sesame Pasta

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 lb. asparagus cut into 3/4 inch pieces
  • Salt & pepper
  • 2 T. sesame seeds
  • 3 garlic cloves chopped
  • 2 scallions cut 1/4 inch Long
  • 1 lb. raw medium shrimp shelled
  • 1 walnut-sized piece of fresh gingerroot chopped
  • 1/2 lb. angel hair pasta or rice
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 T. dry sherry
  • 1 T. sesame oil

Instructions
 

  • Stir fry asparagus and set aside.
  • Toast sesame seeds 2-3 minutes in fry pan and set aside
  • Cook pasta and set aside
  • Stir fry shrimp in oil with garlic and gingerroot.
  • Add sherry and cook 1-2 minutes.. Add back the asparagus and reheat.
  • Add pasta.
  • Add the scallions and toss until hot, 30-60 seconds.
  • Remove from the heat, sprinkle with the sesame oil, and taste for seasoning.
  • On individual serving plates sprinkle with sesame seeds.
