Hot Beef Sandwiches

Ingredients
  

  • Boneless English Cut Roast Beef 3 1/2 - 4 lb..
  • salt
  • pepper
  • butter
  • 2 tbsp flour (approx)
  • 1/2 cup milk (approx)

Instructions
 

  • Brown on each side until it has a brown crust (approximately 3 minutes) in small amount of Crisco
  • Roast in oven with a lid at 350 degrees for 3 - 4 hours until very tender
  • Shred the beef while still warm.
  • Heat, add small amount of water (plus any broth made by roasting beef), lots of salt and pepper, some butter or margarine, and thicken with thickening (flour and milk).
  • Thickening is probably about 1/2 cup milk and 2 Tablespoons flour -- this is a guess but it doesn't take very much. Grandma Jenkins says that salt, pepper, and butter is the secret - mostly the pepper,
