Broccoli cheese soup - version 2

Ingredients
  

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 16 ounces chicken broth
  • 3 cups chopped broccoli
  • 1.5 cups carrots, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cups shredded cheese

Instructions
 

  • Melt butter in a stock pot. Cook onion and garlic in butter until translucent.
  • Add flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder and chicken broth. Bring to a slow boil.
  • Add broccoli, carrots, and cook for ten minutes.
  • Add cream and cheese. Serve when everything is warm.

Notes

Makes 8 servings, so making half of the recipe is possible.
