Hamburger Soup

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 onion small, choppped
- 35 ounce canned tomatoes, diced
- 3 cans consomme (normal size soup can)
- 1 can tomato soup
- 4 sticks carrots, peeled & diced
- 3 stalks celery, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 cup medium, uncooked barley
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Brown ground beef with onion.
- Add all ingredients and simmer for 2 hours
Notes
Low Sodium Alternative:
- 1 can consumme
- 1 can Healthy Start Tomato Soup
- 3 cups vegetable broth (low sodium)
