Traditional Chex Brand Party Mix - Shoesmith Version
Ingredients
- 1/2 stick margarine or butter
- 1 1/4 teaspoons seasoned salt (e.g. Morton's Season All)
- 4 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup cashews
- 1 cup mini-pretzel twists
- 2 cups bugles or bagel chips or a combo of both
- 3 cups corn chex
- 3 cups rice chex
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 250
- In open roasting pan melt margarine in oven.
- Stir in seasoned salt and Worcestershire sauce.
- Gradually add cereals, nuts and pretzels, stirring until all pieces are evenly coated.
- Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Spread on absorbent paper to cool.
- Store in an airtight container.
Notes
Liz's Notes:
- Sometimes I replace one of the cups of Chex mix with Cheerios.
- Mixed nuts can be substituted in place of the cashews
- Sometimes we use a full-size aluminum steam tray for mixing and cooking. It helps to contain the mess.
