Fresh and Crispy Cole Slaw
This is our favorite cole slaw recipe. It is great with barbecue, and it's really easy to make. It beats all of the deli cole slaws hands-down. It's crisp and zippy. Sometimes we'll add in some chipotle pepper seasoning for a hotter flavor, which is great on bratwurst.
Ingredients
- 8 oz cole slaw mix About 1/2 a bag
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 Tbsp mustard Dijon preferred
- 1/2 tsp celery seed
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise Duke's, Hellman's, Blue Plate...a real mayo
- 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the sugar, onion powder, mustard, celery seed, apple cider vinegar and mayo.
- Stir together
- Add the cole slaw mix
- Stir and refigerate
Notes
Ideal for topping on a pulled pork sandwich ** NOTE: We double the recipe to use a full bag of store-bought cole slaw (shredded cabbage)
